Kendrick Lamar - M.A.A.D. City ft. MC Eiht

The Kendrick Lamar album "Good Kid M.A.A.D City" dropped last week and it is really really good. As a concept album chock full of gripping stories, multiple voices and personas, and some phenomenal interludes, it shines. As a club record with enough material to keep djs busy for months, it shines, and maybe even as an introspective art piece - like what Kanye tried to do on Heartbreak, it shines its brightest. The tracks connect ideas together like a dj, with the whole album forming a cohesive story about Kendrick's formative moment - losing his partner to murder as he watched through gang violence. On the second verse of "Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst" he takes on the voice of a prostitute, one of the most powerful moments on the album is her verse fading out as she yells "I'll never fade away!" My favorite track so far is the banger "M.A.A.D City Ft. MC Eiht"produced by Sounworth and THC

You'll be hearing a lot more from me about this future classic album.
